Austria’s capital community volunteers deliver fact-based drug education with young people across the city

Vienna — 23 December 2025 — Volunteers linked to Foundation for a Drug-Free World Austria are expanding outreach in Vienna, engaging youth, families and educators via street information stands and event-based activities. Led locally by Gabriele Toker, a local organiser, the initiative uses “Truth About Drugs” materials to present straightforward information on commonly abused substances, with particular attention to cannabis, often cited as Europe’s most commonly used illicit drug. Organisers say, the Vienna activities focus on early prevention, with visibility at major public events, including the Donauinselfest, while also supporting teachers seeking prevention tools for schools.
